Shelterwood seeks to serve our families with excellence.
Shelterwood Academy is a Christ-centered therapeutic boarding school for teens struggling with mental, emotional and behavioral health challenges.
Shelterwood Academy has been nationally recognized and awarded The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Behavioral Health Care Accreditation – a designation achieved by less than 2,000 behavioral health facilities in the U.S.
Shelterwood’s onsite high school is accredited through Cognia, previously AdvancEd, a nationally recognized accrediting body which ensures the credits teens receive at home and during their treatment at Shelterwood Academy are mutually transferable.
In addition, we hold the distinguished designation as a NATSAP Gold Seal Recipient for Evidence-Based Outcomes, further demonstrating Shelterwood’s efficacy in producing reliable heart change to teenagers and restoration to families.
Shelterwood is a certified member of the Evangelical Council of Financial Accountability (ECFA), a demonstration of the organization’s commitment to operational integrity.
Shelterwood is the nation’s first inpatient residential treatment center to offer and facilitate the Brain Balance Program® on site. This cognitive training program strengthens and improves the areas of your teen’s brain involved with cognition, regulating mood and emotions, and overall well-being.
Shelterwood has earned the Joint Commission Seal of Approval. Our licensing and accreditation for academics and therapeutic services ensure excellence, accountability, and transparency.
