Girls Residential House Director
Her name is Julie, but her co-workers call her Mama Julie or Mama J. As our Residential House Director, she hires, supervises and trains the residential managers in the girls’ house at Shelterwood, coordinates and maintains student programming, and oversees parent communication. She also has the amazing opportunity to direct and oversee the care of the teens who live in the girls’ house — coaching them, giving leadership responsibilities and watching them grow. “Mama J” is a great nickname for her, because she’s a mom to three grown children who live in D.C. and Dallas. But now that they’re out of the house, weekends will find her hiking, biking, or making cookies for her co-workers.
