Shelly Moss has been involved with Shelterwood for the last five years as a parent liaison. In her role as Director of Admissions, she is able to use her business and legal background to help families find the help they are seeking for their struggling teens. Shelly is proud to be a Texas Aggie, graduating with a business degree in 1987. She also holds a Law Degree from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama. Happily married for 25 years to her husband, Rodney, she is also the proud mother of their four children. She counts her relationship with Jesus Christ as the most important in her life and is humbled and blessed to work with families at Shelterwood.

Lloyd Rindels

Lloyd Rindels // Director of Training and Leadership Development

Lloyd has been a part of the Shelterwood team since 2014 and in His new role as The Director of Training and Leadership brings many years of experience in leadership and training to help the Shelterwood leadership. Lloyd is a veteran of the United States Air Force, received his BA from the University of Arizona and has a diverse professional background having served in the political realm and then entering into vocational ministry where He directed discipleship/leadership training schools. Lloyd and his wife Brenda reside in Belton, Missouri have three adult children and five grandchildren.

Chad Smith

Chad Smith // Assistant Program Director & House Director (Male Students)

After earning his degree in Literature from Ozark Christian College, Chad Smith worked with teens and college students in both Missouri and Georgia for more than 10 years, and went on to pursue certification in high school education. In addition to serving as Shelterwood’s Assistant Program Director, Chad also teaches English. A Kansas City native, Chad enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.

Teri Hansen // Human Resources

Teri Hansen has worked as a volunteer at Shelterwood before becoming the Human Resources Director. She has over 14 years experience in all aspects of Human Resources. Having worked at two Fortune 500 companies previously, this by far is her favorite job. She firmly believes in Shelterwood’s mission of making families whole again and loves the Christ-centered environment. She has been married for 25 years to her husband Randy and they are grateful to have been blessed with two sons. Her hobbies included volunteering for and supporting local marching bands, taking road trips, creative Bible journaling and anything Disney.

Amy Hobson
Research Coordinator Bio

Amy Hobson // Research Coordinator

Amy earned her MS in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Baylor University and her BS from Southwest Baptist University in Psychology and Sociology. Amy first came to work at Shelterwood in 1997 as a Big Sister/Mentor, which ultimately led to pursuing her Master’s degree and coming back to Shelterwood where she has served in several roles for the past 15 years, including admissions and discipleship/staff care. In addition to her Shelterwood experience, Amy has been a career counselor at Baylor University, Director of Women’s Formation and Leadership at Redeemer Fellowship, and assistant director of Leadtime, a discipleship program for college graduates. Outside of Shelterwood, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, Stephen, and their four young children. She enjoys running and being active, traveling, trying new restaurants, and starting way more books than she finishes.

Stephen Hobson
Director of Accounting Bio

Stephen Hobson // Director of Accounting

Stephen graduated with a B.S. degree from Oklahoma State University. While in college he had several opportunities to work with teenagers in youth ministry. Upon graduation, he decided to continue to pursue ministry to teens by becoming a Big Brother/Mentor at Shelterwood. After serving for three years directly with the Shelterwood teens and their families, Stephen moved over the business and administrative side of the ministry. He has now been serving as the Director of Accounting for 8+ years. Stephen says he loves getting to use his accounting skills to support Shelterwood in this capacity while still getting to be connected to the relational elements of the ministry. Over the years as Stephen says his heart has moved to not just being for the Shelterwood teens, but also for the parents. “I have grown to greatly admire Shelterwood parents for the love, sacrifice and humility they display to get their child the help that they need and walk with them through the Shelterwood journey.” Outside of Shelterwood, Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy and their four young children. Stephen is a fan of many sports and enjoys woodworking as well as outdoor activities, such as hiking and fishing.
