Shelly Moss has been involved with Shelterwood for the last five years as a parent liaison. In her role as Director of Admissions, she is able to use her business and legal background to help families find the help they are seeking for their struggling teens. Shelly is proud to be a Texas Aggie, graduating with a business degree in 1987. She also holds a Law Degree from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama. Happily married for 25 years to her husband, Rodney, she is also the proud mother of their four children. She counts her relationship with Jesus Christ as the most important in her life and is humbled and blessed to work with families at Shelterwood.

Shelly Moss has been a Shelterwood parent liaison for the past five years. Shelly is proud to be a Texas Aggie; she graduated from Texas A&M with a business degree in 1987. She also holds a Law Degree from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in  Birmingham, Alabama. Happily married for 25 years to her husband, Rodney, Shelly is the proud mother of their four children. Her relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important in her life; she is humbled and blessed to work with families at Shelterwood.

Kortney Levy // Director of Recruiting

Kortney Levy has more than 10 years of recruiting experience.  Her love of challenges and desire to help others makes her a great fit as Director of Recruiting for Shelterwood.  Kortney earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, where she also worked as an alumni association senior recruiter for seven years. She has been married to her husband, David, for eight years and has two beautiful children, Marcy and Declan.  Her passion for Jesus shines throughout her daily life, along with her love for her family, exercise and travel.

Chad Smith // Assistant Program Director & House Director (Male Students)

After earning his degree in literature from Ozark Christian College, Chad Smith worked with teens and college students in Missouri and Georgia for more than 10 years. Chad then went on to pursue certification in high school education. In addition to serving as Shelterwood’s Assistant Program Director, Chad also teaches English. A Kansas City native, Chad enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.

Jane Lawrence // Registrar

Jane Lawrence joined the Shelterwood team in 2005.  Starting out as the School Registrar, she has since also taken on the role of Main Office Administrator, and is often referred to as Shelterwood’s “air-traffic controller.”  Originally from the Philippines, Jane comes to Shelterwood with a heart for ministry. After attending The University of the Philippines, Jane went on staff with Student Venture, where she met her husband, John. As a mother of two teen daughters, Jane relates to the students like they’re one of her own.  “Miss Jane,” as they call her, not only helps determine their school schedules, but also helps students who need it take a break and process with her.

Teri Hansen // Human Resources

Teri Hansen worked as a volunteer at Shelterwood before becoming its Human Resources Director. She has more than 14 years of experience in all aspects of human resources. Having worked at two Fortune 500 companies previously, Teri says this is by far her favorite job. She firmly believes in Shelterwood’s mission of making families whole again and loves the Christ-centered environment. She has been married for 25 years to her husband, Randy, and they are grateful to have been blessed with two sons. Her hobbies include supporting local marching bands, taking road trips, creative Bible journaling and anything Disney.

Amy Hobson // Research Coordinator

Amy earned her master’s degree in counseling with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Baylor University and her bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology from Southwest Baptist University. Amy first came to work at Shelterwood in 1997 as a Big Sister/Mentor, which ultimately inspired her to pursue her master’s degree. Amy returned to Shelterwood, where she has served in several roles for the past 15 years, including admissions and discipleship/staff care. In addition to her Shelterwood experience, Amy has been a career counselor at Baylor University, Director of Women’s Formation and Leadership at Redeemer Fellowship, and an assistant director of Leadtime, a discipleship program for college graduates. Outside of Shelterwood, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, Stephen, and their four young children. She enjoys running and being active, traveling, trying new restaurants, and starting way more books than she finishes.

Lloyd Rindels // Director of Training and Leadership Development

Lloyd has been a part of the Shelterwood team since 2014 and brings many years of experience to his new role as Director of Training and Leadership. Lloyd is a veteran of the United States Air Force and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona. Lloyd has a diverse professional background. He served in the political realm before entering into vocational ministry, where he directed discipleship and leadership training schools. Lloyd and his wife, Brenda, reside in Belton, Missouri, and have three adult children and five grandchildren.

Stephen Hobson // Director of Accounting

Stephen graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University. While in college he had several opportunities to work with teenagers in youth ministry. Upon graduation, he decided to continue to pursue teen ministry by becoming a Big Brother/Mentor at Shelterwood. After serving for three years directly with Shelterwood teens and their families, Stephen moved to the business and administrative side of the ministry. He has served as the Director of Accounting for more than eight years. Stephen loves getting to use his accounting skills to support Shelterwood while still getting to be connected to the relational elements of the ministry. Stephen has a heart for Shelterwood teens and their parents, who he admires for the love, sacrifice and humility they display to get their children the help they need. Outside of Shelterwood, Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and their four young children. Stephen is a fan of many sports and enjoys woodworking as well as outdoor activities, such as hiking and fishing.
