Hello ladies. For those mamas out there feeling sad, lonely and discouraged. The photo on the left is my son the first month at Shelterwood. He was lost, confused and defiant. The photo on the right was this past weekend at Prom. He graduated two years exactly from Shelterwood. I’m not going to promise it was easy or it gets easier but I can definitely say there are more good days than bad days now. We live with his struggles of mental health everyday but he manages, we manage. He learned the skills he needs to succeed from Shelterwood. And the fact that Shelterwood kept him alive.
I am forever grateful. The Lord was with us during the journey the entire time. We never lost faith and never ever forgot that the Lord is in control. He graduates from High school next month and is off to college at Cal State San Marcos in the fall. To all those discouraged Moms….Stay in the fight For your child and for your family. You got this.
