Help Transform the Lives of Struggling Teens

Shelterwood Academy is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization of Doulos Ministries, which has helped change youth lives for over 40 years through heartfelt service and sharing Jesus’ unconditional love.

Richard Beach Memorial Scholarship Fund

Richard founded Shelterwood in 1980 and invested all of his energy into developing young adult leaders and caring for teens and families. Richard had a special way about him, always eager to connect and care for others and willing to talk to anybody. He was known for his love of life, people and his Savior. His conversations were always filled with humor and compassion, and he never hesitated to share his faith in Jesus with others.

Richard always saw the best in people, and he has had a lasting impact on many people around the country. He was an especially generous supporter of single moms and their families, veterans and those in ministry. He had a real heart for these parents in need. Richard lost his battle with cancer in 2010, and this fund was established in his memory to assist struggling families with the costs of residential treatment for their sons or daughters.

Teens arrive at Shelterwood when they are at their lowest, and we are committed to bringing heart change to these teenagers and restoration to their families. Help us make hope possible for families in need. Your generosity will help make the transformation of a lifetime possible for single moms and other families by helping us bridge the gap in our funding!
